In an interview with Sportsnet’s Starting Lineup (h/t Fightful), Drew McIntyre spoke about how women’s wrestling has changed in WWE and said that he doesn’t want to try to follow the women’s matches anymore because of how good they are.

He said: “The girls were in short segments and not exactly the most….they weren’t able to show their skills. And there’s always been some very skilled women around, they just weren’t able to get that opportunity. It frustrated me and it really frustrated them. When I was away from the company, I was around a lot of talented women. I was watching them and was like, ‘Wow, these girls are better than most of the guys.’ Finally, when the women’s evolution happened and the girls started to get opportunities, they really started killing it. Back in the day, it used to be a case of, if you were on after the girls it was a great spot because the crowd will have came down and they were ready for a serious match. These days, you don’t want to be after the girls because they are going to kill it and you’re gonna have to follow them.
