Drew McIntyre Confirms He Was Set For WWE Title Feud With Jinder Mahal Last Year

There had been speculation that WWE could run with a Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal feud for the WWE title last year, and in a recent interview with Fightful Select, McIntyre revealed some details on plans for the feud and why it ultimately didn’t happen.

According to Fightful, McIntyre noted that he felt the timing would have been “perfect” to do the storyline, but Mahal’s second knee surgery derailed the plans for the feud.

McIntyre expressed his disappointment that they weren’t able to do the storyline and that he was excited they could do it this year at SummerSlam.

Mahal also confirmed to Fightful that things were in motion for the title feud prior to his injury.
