Final Rating & Viewership For WWE Smackdown Ranks #2 For Night

October 14, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas
WWE Friday Night Smackdown

– The final rating and viewership for Friday night’s episode of Smackdown is in, and it had the expected drop. Friday’s episode brought in a 1.0 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 2.877 million viewers, down 29% and 26% from the FOX debut’s 1.4 demo rating and 3.888 million viewers.

It’s important to note that, much like AEW and NXT’s ratings drop, this is not a surprise. Any heavily hyped series premiere across television is going to have a drop and a 25% fall is traditionally within expected bounds. Most of the new show premieres this year on broadcast networks have dropped lower percentages, but that’s because they’ve had much less to fall from; the highest-rated premiere on broadcast TV outside of Smackdown has been CBS’ The Unicorn which started at a 0.83.

Smackdown finished #2 for the night across television per Showbuzz Daily, behind only the NLCS game on TBS (1.13 demo rating, 4.646 million viewers).
