ROH NJPW G1 Supercard MSG

As previously reported, at today’s ROH/NJPW Honor Rising event, The Guerrillas of Destiny won the IWGP heavyweight tag team titles from EVIL and Sanada. In the main event, The Briscoes retained their titles against Juice Robinson and David Finlay. After the match, they challenged the Guerrillas to a title vs. title match at the upcoming G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden in April. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa then came out to accept the challenge.

Per PWInsider, this is the first time a non-WWE tag team title has been defended in the Garden since the early 1960s. The last time there was a title vs. title bout of world champions in MSG was WWWF champion Bob Backlund vs. NWA World champion Harley Race in September 1980 .

You can check out a photo of the stare down of the two teams that took place at the event below. The ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard is set for April 6 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
