Gail Kim on Calling Mia Yim to Reassure Her During the Retribution Angle in WWE

– During a recent interview with TNA: 20 Years Later, Gail Kim critiqued WWE booking Mia Yim as part of the Retribution angle as the Reckoning character, where she was forced to wear a mask. Gail Kim stated the following on the subject (via WrestlingInc.com):

“I knew [Mia Yim] was kind of doing the whole Retribution thing there and had a mask on her. You know, knowing Mia all those years and working with her, I knew, ‘Well, this isn’t really her and I wonder if she’s happy.’ And so, I just reached out to her and reassured her, ‘Hey, don’t forget how talented you are if you’re just sitting there.'”

WWE later released Mia Yim in November of last year. She returned to Impact Wrestling last month at Under Siege.
