The Hardys Will Likely be ‘Woken’ & Not ‘Broken’ in WWE, More Info on Anthem Giving Up The Fight

It was reported yesterday that Anthem/Impact has decided they will not pursue ownership of the “Broken Universe,” which will allow Matt Hardy to officially trademark and own the characters

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the belief is that WWE will not use the “broken” term, and instead go with “woken,” which Matt has used when doing teases of the character on WWE TV. The site also says that the Hardys were able to show financial and contractual digressions, which left Anthem in a bad way legally. Word is that the change in attitude from Anthem is a way to save face, and to avoid a loss in court that would set a bad precedent against them.
