James Gunn Shares Joking Tweet of John Cena in Peacemaker Costume, Cena Responds

– Earlier this week, The Suicide Squad director James Gunn shared a tweet showing WWE’s John Cena in his full Peacemaker costume walking around in public after getting a coffee. Cena is currently in Vancouver filming the Peacemaker TV series, where he reprises the role of his character from the upcoming sequel. In the caption for the photo, James Gunn joked, “What’s weird is that this is on John’s day off.” John Cena later shared a joking response, which you can see below.

Later on, Cena replied to Gunn’s earlier tweet, writing, “Why is that weird? Just breaking in the uniform. #Peacemaker PS, it’s quite difficult to shower in…but I manage.” Gunn is also serving as creator, writer, and executive producer for the upcoming DC TV spinoff.

Peacemaker is still filming and in the works for HBO Max. Cena will initially appear as the character in The Suicide Squad, which is due out in theaters and HBO Max on August 6. The HBO Max spinoff is slated for a January 2022 debut. The show also stars Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji.
