Kofi Kingston Reveals How Xavier Woods Got Approval to Use a Trombone for The New Day, Shares His Disbelief How WWE Basically Lets the Stable Do Whatever They Want
– During his appearance on Edge and Christian’s podcast this week, WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston revealed the story behind Xavier Woods using a trombone for The New Day (via Ringside News). According to Kingston, it started after Xavier Woods was injured and had a cast on. Kingston wanted to draw attention to the cast, but WWE said no to putting spray paint on it.
Later on, Xavier Woods asked if he could use a trombone because he had played it before in high school. WWE officials reportedly loved the idea and gave it an approval.
During the podcast interview, Kofi Kingston also expressed disbelief how WWE largely lets them do whatever they want with the New Day gimmick. Additionally, it blows Kingston’s mind that there is so much planning for some of the crazier entrances for New Day’s gimmick, such as the time they came out of a box of Booty O’s cereal for WrestleMania.
He noted that The New Day has also addressed some controversial topics in their promos, even the infamous Paige videos and the controversial Jussie Smollett scandal. Kingston apparently doesn’t know how this all happened and how New Day can make references to almost anything.
