Kurt Angle Remembers Actually Punching Brock Lesnar During A Match
In a new Q&A on his Facebook page, Kurt Angle spoke about a time he really punched Brock Lesnar during a match, Eddie Guerrero winning his first WWE title and more. Here are highlights:
On if he’s ever punched a wrestler in the face for real: “Yes. Let me see….Brock [Lesnar], [John] Cena, Shane [McMahon], and [Samoa] Joe. I’ve done it quite a bit. My punches can be a bit stiff…LOL. One time I hit Brock in the face, and he said to me ‘Do I owe you money or something?'”
On Eddie Guerrero’s first title win: “Eddie broke the barrier of being undersized and winning the World Title. He and Chris [Benoit] made a huge statement at WrestleMania 20. It was one of the greatest ‘feel good’ moments I’ve ever seen. Eddie was the most deserving of this prestigious moment. He earned it.”
On if it bothers him that people remember Wrestlemania 19 for Brock Lesnar’s botched shooting star press: “No, everyone knows how good it was. I’m happy that people talk about the shooting star press, that’s what gets people that haven’t seen the match interested in watching it.”
On what he’s left to accomplish: “I have nothing that I feel I need to accomplish, other than an amazing retirement match, whenever that is.”
