Lio Rush Reportedly Has Heat With People Backstage in WWE
Lio Rush’s split with Bobby Lashley and pinfall defeat at last night’s Elimination Chamber was not a surprise backstage, where he reportedly has heat. Mike Johnson noted in PWInsider’s Elite audio (h/t Ringside News) that Rush has a reputation of being not well-liked by several people within the company, though it isn’t certain that’s why he took the loss.
“I can tell you behind the scenes there were not a lot of people surprised at that and not a lot of people surprised that Lio took the pin,” it was noted.
Johnson goes on to say that Rush has “a reputation for rubbing people — including other workers the wrong way.” He noted that he has no solid evidence that this is why Rush took the loss or whether it was just a way to protect Lashley while putting the title on Finn Balor, adding, “I guess we’ll have to see based on how Lio is presented in the weeks and months to come.”
This is not the first time Rush has reportedly been in hot water backstage. Back in late 2017 got major heat on him after joking about Emma’s release from the company at the time.
