Lita Says She Had 24 Hours’ Notice For the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble

Lita recently revealed that she was offered a spot in the first women’s Royal Rumble just 24 hours after the match happened. The WWE Hall of Famer, who was part of this year’s Rumble and faced Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber, spoke with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast and noted that when she was offered a spot in the 2018 women’s Rumble match, it was just a day before the PPV took place.
“So, I mean.. the Rumble is fun,” she said (per Fightful). “Undeniable. Watching it and being in it. I did the first one, it was monumental. It was historic. I had to be part of it…but I was asked 24 hours in advance. I had not been training. I had to take a red eye, spending all day in medical getting cleared.”
She continued, “The first time I touched a ring since the last time whenever you guys saw me touch a ring was the first time I touched a ring. So, I was nervous in all the wrong ways. I was still glad I did it, there was only gonna be one first [women’s] rumble. I was still happy to see all the women and I ultimately had a good time in my experience [but] when they called me this year I was like ‘Yeah, I want a redo.’ I had a proper heads up and I had been training and my motivation was that it’s fun, I get to see my girlfriends and this time I wanna feel good nervous going into it.”
