Lita Reveals She Was Uncomfortable With Live Sex Segment, Claims WWE Threatened To Fire Her
During a livestream on her Twitch account (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter), Lita said that she was uncomfortable with taking part in the ‘Live Sex Celebration’ with Edge back in 2006, but claims WWE threatened to fire her if she didn’t do it.
She said that Edge, John Cena and others went to bat for her to attempt to get the segment pulled, but Vince McMahon reportedly ‘insisted’ on it and made the firing threat. She noted that she was actually topless under the sheets when she was stripped during the segment. The highly-rated angle saw Edge celebrate his WWE title win by promising sex with Lita in front of the world. It only got as far as the two being in their underwear before Ric Flair interrupted.
She also noted during the stream that it was why she left WWE later in that year and that she was buried on her way out because of it.
The two sides seemingly made amends, as she was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and had later appearances on WWE programming, even wrestling for them again in 2018.
