UPDATE: Psycho Clown, Nieves’ son, mentioned in an interview with TV Azteca that his father suffered a heart attack. Additionally, he noted that he received a phone call Monday evening alerting him of the situation, but upon arriving, he was unsuccessful in trying to revive Nieves.

ORIGINAL: Jose Alvarado Nieves, who was known as Super Porky and Brazo de Plata, passed away on Monday at the age of 58. Talk show Mas Lucha announced Nieves’ passing during a video on Monday night.

Widely known for his incredible charisma, he got his start in wrestling back in 1977 under a mask as Brazo de Plata (Spanish for “Silver Arm”) and mostly wrestled in tag team matches with his brother Brazo de Oro (Spanish for “Gold Arm”).

He would then go on to join CMLL in 1985, spending 20 years in the promotion before popping up in WWE in 2005 as part of the short-lived SmackDown Juniors Division. After his WWE exit, he signed with AAA in 2006 and remained with the company through 2009 and went on to finish his career on the independent circuit while making occasional appearances in CMLL.

On behalf of 411, we send our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Nieves.
