Mark Henry Is Proud of Jay Lethal For Headlining Madison Square Garden

In the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry had a lot of praise for ROH World Champion Jay Lethal and said that he is proud of him for headlining a show at Madison Square Garden this Saturday.

He said: ““Jay Lethal, you are a friend, but more than that you are a contemporary. You deserve to be spoke of in the same breath as The Rock, a Ron Simmons, a Booker T, a Mark Henry. The list goes on of African American wrestlers that have paved the way throughout history. You are setting the stage for the two or three generations after you. If you have that in mind, you will go on to do great things, because you’ve already done great things. I’m very proud that you’re headlining Madison Square Garden. Because it’s THE Madison Square Garden. It’s the place where everybody goes and they up their game. So I can’t wait to see what you do to elevate it. It’s going to be a special night.

Also, on the same page is that, the mirror of you and Kofi both at the same time. When people say there’s no African American influence in pro wrestling, I’ll be damned if there’s not an African American influence. Jay Lethal and Kofi Kingston are at the top of the game right now. And I pray and hope that everybody that’s a wrestling fan supports you guys because supporting you is what’s gonna give another African-American wrestler down the road a chance. You know, don’t complain. Go support. Get out there and buy tickets. Have the audience be a reflection of who the people are that you’re supporting. You puttin’ asses in seats is what makes everybody elite. And I think that our fanbase is doing that.

I’ve walked around the streets at Wrestlemania and I see people of all ethnicities: white, black, asian, indian, Spanish, you name it. Wrestling is a melting of people that all have the same objective: to be entertained by the best wrestlers in the world. And Jay Lethal, you are one of the best wrestlers in the world.”
