In her newly released newsletter, former WWE Superstar Nikki Storm (formerly Nikki Cross) spoke about her upcoming return to the indie pro wrestling scene. As noted, she’s set to compete at PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 196: Scorchio. Below are some highlights of her comments:

Who Is Nikki Storm?

“Who is she, you may ask? Nikki Storm, The Best in the Galaxy was my alter ego before I joined a big wrestling television company. She said the most ludicrous and ridiculous things, but prided herself on being one of the best wrestlers around. I talk about her in third person. I’m not sure why…maybe it helps me keep my distance from that wild, unpredictable and mouthy powerhouse. Like any of the characters I have played in the wrestling industry, they are all extensions of me, or some part of me. I put my heart and soul into characters. Every character I ever played, I developed a back story, a reason for her to act the way she does. At times, I related it back to a part of my past, or an element of my personality. Nikki Storm is the confident, larger than life persona that allows Nicola Glencross to retreat and be safe in her little bubble, like Glinda in the Wizard of OZ (I do wish I had a pink bubble I could travel round in).”

On Reintroducing Moves Back Into Her Repertoire

“Physicality wise, I have been practicing my trademark signature moves such as the Swinging Neckbreaker, the Galaxy Shock, and a variety of suplexes. I have been focusing specifically on little details in movements and developing my technical skills further. I am excited to be re-introducing certain maneuvers back into my moveset.”

Storm, along with the rest of the Wyatt Sicks, was released from WWE in April. Storm and her husband, wrestler Big Damo (aka Killian Dain), later acquired PROGGRESS Wrestling and Defy Wrestling, announcing the news last month.
