NJPW Power Struggle Results 11.04.23: Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley in Action, David Finlay Smashes Title Belts

– NJPW held its Power Struggle event earlier today at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium (Edion Arena Osaka) in Osaka, Japan. Will Ospreay defended his IWGP UK Heavyweight Championship against Shota Umino in the main event and was later confronted by Jon Moxley. However, David Finlay then attacked both men and used a sledgehammer to destroy Ospreay’s title belts.

Also, Kazuchika Okada received a challenge via video from AEW’s Bryan Danielson for a match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 after Okada defended the Never Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles. Jon Moxley competed earlier in the event, beating The Great-O-Khan in a Falls Count anywhere match. Today’s event had an announced attendance of 4,046 people and was streamed live on NJPW World. * Frontier Zone: Boltin Oleg, Ryusuke Taguchi & The DKC beat DRAGON GATE (Strong Machine J, Mochizuki Jr. & Yoshiki Kato) at 6:40.
* The United Empire (Callum Newman & Jeff Cobb) beat Young Blood (Oskar Leube & Yuto Nakashima) at 4:41.
* El DespeWato (El Desperado & Master Wato) beat The Bullet Club’s War Dogs (Drilla Moloney & Clark Connors), Musashi Komatsu (YOH & MUSASHI) vs Ichiban Sweet Boys (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita) at 5:36.
* Kevin Knight, KUSHIDA & Tama Tonga beat Los Ingobernables De Japon (Titan, BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) at 10:55.
* Los Ingobernables De Japon (Yota Tsuji & Tetsuya Naito) beat Just Five Guys (Yuya Uemura & SANADA) at 11:10.
* David Finlay beat Tanga Loa at 12:33.
* Jon Moxley vs. The Great-O-Khan ended in a double countout at 1:07. After that, the match was restarted with Falls Count Anywhere rules.
* Falls Count Anywhere Match: Jon Moxley beat The Great-O-Khan at 14:10.
* NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship Match: Tomohiro Ishii, Kazuchika Okada & Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) beat TMDK (Zack Sabre Jr., Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) to retain their titles at 16:15.
* As noted, after the match, Bryan Danielson appeared on the video screen challenging Kazuchika Okada to a matchup at Wrestle Kingdom 18 at the Tokyo Dome.
* Super Junior Tag League Finals: Catch 2/2 (Francesco Akira & TJP) beat The House of Torture (SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) at 16:40 to win the tournament.
* IWP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: Hiromu Takahashi (c) beat Taiji Ishimori to retain the title at 20:38. After the match, Hiromu nominated El Desperado as his challenger for the title at Wrestle Kingdom 18.
* IWGP UK Heavyweight Championship: Will Ospreay (c) beat Shota Umino to retain the title at 40:16.
* After the match, Jon Moxley confronted Will Ospreay. David Finlay then attacked both men and took a sledgehammer to both the UK and US title belts and destroyed both titles.
