NJPW Results 2.1.19 in Charlotte, North Carolina: Juice Robinson Battles Trent Barreta, More

– NJPW held a show in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday night, with Juice Robinson facing Trent Barreta in the main event. The results were, per PWInsider:

The merchandise lines were really long. Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer signed autographs and took photos. Attendance was at least 1,200.

Katsuyori Shibata gave a short speech before the first match.

Karl Fredericks and Clark Connors went to a time limit draw. Really go back and forth match. Lots of chops, arm bars and submission attempts. Really good young lions match. Shibata was watching at ringside. Both got a great response.

Colt Cabana and John Skyler beat Lance Archer and Shane Taylor when Colt pinned Shane with a rollup. Lance and Shane attacked Colt and John before and after the match. Lance attacked the young lions at ringside before the match. Hard hitting match that the crowd really got into.

The Dominator Great O’Kharn beat Tracer X with a modified choke slam. Tracer did a Hurancanrana and a Canadian Destroyer during the match. Really talented guy that New Japan should take a head look at. O’Kharn looked really good as well.

Brody King and Marty Scurll defeated Jonathan Gresham and Jeff Cobb when Brody pinned Jonathan with the All-Seeing Eye. Great match. Lots of near falls. Good big man on little man action when King and Gresham were in. Cobb did his signature power moves, standing moonsault and tackles on Scurll and King. Crowd was loving this one. Great pop at the finish.

Tiger Hattori came to out ref the following two matches. He got a huge pop and standing ovation.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. pinned Alex Coughlin with a sit-out power bomb. Davey Boy suplexed Alex on the exposed concrete. Several submission attempts from each. Coughlin looked crisp in this one. Talented guy. Smith looked really good as usual.

Tracy Williams and David Finlay best Rocky Romero and Chuckie T when Williams submitted Chuckie with a cross face after a piledriver. Good seventeen-minute match with lots of near falls. Really good especially when Williams and Rocky were in. Back and forth chops and forearms at one point between the two.

IWGP United States Title match: Juice Robinson pinned Trent Barreta in a thirty-minute match. Great match with lots of crowd heat. Trent do three tornado DDT’s on Juice with one on the floor. Long New Japan style main event. Chuckie T and Jeff Cobb signed autographs and took pics after the show.

Really good show. Another good crowd at the merch tables afterwards.
