NJPW Resurgence Results 5.09.25: Goto vs. Sabre, Title Changes

– NJPW Resurgence was held at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California last night. The show had an announced attendance of 2,027 people. As noted, AZM won the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title, beating Mercedes Mone and Mina Shirakawa in a triple threat bout, ending Mone’s title run.
Elsewhere, The United Empire’s Templario and TJP beat The World Class Wrecking Crew to win the NJPW STRONG Openweight Titles. Also, Hirooki Goto defended his IWGP World Heavyweight Title against Zack Sabre Jr. However, the bout ended in a not contest. Additionally, The Good Brothers returned to New Japan, teaming with The Young Bucks in a winning effort against The War Dogs.
Also, Bea Priestley made her NJPW return, beating Viva Van during a pre-show bout. Below are some results, per New Japan’s website:

* The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) & The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) defeated The Bullet Club War Dogs (Clark Connors, David Finlay, Gabe Kidd & Gedo)
* NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship Match: Tomohiro Ishii (c) beat Drilla Moloney.
* NEVER Openweight Championship Match: Konosuke Takeshita (c) beat El Phantasmo.
* IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Hirooki Goto (c) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. Ended In A No-Contest.
* NJPW Strong Women’s Championship Match: AZM beat Mercedes Moné (c) & Mina Shirakawa to win the title.
