WWE News: No Heat on AJ Styles Over Hulk Hogan Reference on Raw 25, NFL Star Wears Luchador Mask

– After AJ Styles made a Hulk Hogan reference on Raw 25, there was speculation he may have gotten some heat with management over it but that’s not the case. The speculation online came from the fact that Hogan is persona non grata in WWE since he was terminated for the racist remarks he made in the sex tape that was leaked in 2015, but Sports Illustrated reports that the entirety of that promo with Mean Gene Okerlund was scripted beforehand and approved.

According to the site, Styles asked if he could make the Hogan reference. Styles was close to Hogan when they worked together in TNA and wanted to give him a show of respect. This isn’t too much of a surprise as WWE referenced the line on their social media accounts, something that they wouldn’t have likely done if it was Styles going off script in a way that they didn’t approve of. But for anyone who may have thought otherwise, Styles has no heat with management over the line.
