Note on How Much Women’s Wrestling Will Be On NJPW Shows
March 24, 2023 | Posted by
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is likely only to be a ‘very limited’ amount of women’s wrestling on NJPW shows in Japan. The IWGP women’s title will be defended on big shows but that’s about it. Gedo, who is in charge of booking, has no interest in women’s wrestling at this time.
However, Takaaki Kidana does want women on the big shows to help draw interest to STARDOM and increase interest outside of Japan. They feel the shows need a women’s match.
As previously noted, Mercedes Mone is set to defend the belt against Hazuki and AZM at Sakura Genesis on April 8.
