Note On Who Backed Vince McMahon On Third Party Platform Ban, Idea Didn’t Come From Nick Khan

As has been extensively reported, WWE issued a new edict earlier this year banning their talent from using third party platforms like Twitch and Cameo. The news didn’t sit well with talent, resulting in Andrew Yang calling out WWE and Zelina Vega getting fired for opening an OnlyFans account.
The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that while some have reported that WWE President Nick Khan is the one who ordered the policy, he is not solely responsible. The idea had been present before he joined the company earlier this year.
It was also noted that the two people who are supporting Vince McMahon on the decision are Bruce Prichard and Brad Blum. Prichard has his own third party platform, his Something to Wrestle podcast, but it was reported that he gets to keep that because it was written into his contract when he returned to the company. However it seems the talent are more upset at that deal, as they are not considered employees and have to give up opportunities to make money outside wrestling.
