– It was reported this week on by Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin on Twitter that Vince McMahon was not backstage for last night’s edition of Raw. Since he wasn’t there, Triple H, Paul Heyman, and Kevin Dunn ran last night’s show instead, with Heyman sitting at the main table with Triple H and Dunn for the production meeting. Dave Meltzer shared more details on this topic on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

Vince McMahon was not present for last night’s Raw, and based on WOR, he will not be in attendance for tonight’s Smackdown Live either because he’s getting ready for the XFL announcements for Wednesday (Aug. 21). As noted, the XFL will be announcing the names and logos for the new teams for the inaugural season tomorrow.

The announcement is scheduled for 12:30 pm EST on XFL.com, ESPN.com, and FoxSports.com. With the XFL relaunch gearing up, it does beg the question how much time Vince McMahon will have to dedicate to WWE? This fall will see both Raw and NXT on USA Network, and Smackdown Live will be on FOX on Friday nights.
