Paul Heyman Trying to Add More Realistic Dialogue, Storyline Consequences to Raw

July 18, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

– Paul Heyman is reportedly trying to make a few changes to how Raw approaches storylines and backstage interviews through his new role as Executive Director. According to the WON, Heyman is attempting to add more realistic dialogue to backstage interviews, as opposed to the faker dialogue that is currently used.

Heyman is also instituting a situation where consequences on things like storyline injuries, wins and losses mattering and angles won’t just be dropped. The site notes that top-pushed talent has complained for years about not being allowed to sell storyline injuries from big matches or angles on later episodes, because he doesn’t want them to appear “weak” on TV. However, mid-card guys have been allowed to do it. Strowman missing a week as a result of the LED stage crash is an example of that.
