Paul Roma’s PAPW To Run Autism Charity Event After Organizer Scams Them
– Paul Roma’s promotion is stepping up and running a wresling event to benefit autism after a previous event resulted in the organizer allegedly scamming everyone involved. WTNH in Connecticut reports that Paradise Alley Pro Wrestling, which is run by Roma and Mario Mancini, put together a charity event called “Wrestling for Autism” last month after a man reached out to them and said his own daughter was autistic and he wanted to put on a fundraiser for the Autism Services and Resources Connecticut.
According to PAPW, the man gave them the check to cover the expenses but it bounced after being deposited. A week and a half later, they discovered that the ASCR had never received the $5,000 that was raised from the event. The executive director of the ASRC said, “This hurts that someone would pull a scam like this, using a small organization like ours that has worked so hard for families and individuals on the spectrum.”
PAPW has now decided to run their own event on June 24th at the East Haven Veterans Memorial Ice Rink in order to raise money for the autism organization, with promises to deliver it to them personally.
