As we reported yesterday, AEW Dynamite defeated NXT again, although both shows suffered viewership drops. Dynamite had 753,000 viewers and a 0.30 rating in the key 18-49 demographic (389,000 viewers) compared to NXT’s 644,000 viewers and 0.16 rating (205,000 viewers). Just like the last two weeks, NXT didn’t make the top 50 (landing at #56, #19 among non-news shows), so not all of the usual data will be available. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a breakdown of the numbers, including quarter-by-quarter.

Dynamite was down 8.8% overall but up 1.6% in 18-49. They mostly dropped in 50+. There was enough of a gain in women 18-49 that it offset the drop in 18-34. AEW had a 0.11 in males 12-34 (down 38.9%), while women 12-34 was up 40%. NXT was down 1.1% in viewers and 8.9% in 18-49.

Both shows had to compete with news and the World Series. As a comparison, Game two of the World Series had a 66% male audience in 18-49, with a 2.3 rating in 18-49 and 1.7 in 18-34. The only non-news show that beat AEW was Real Housewives of Orange County (0.36, 1,108,000 viewers). AEW was #4 in males 18-49, behind three FOX News shows, #2 behind Tucker Carlson in the first hour and fourth behind Real Housewives, FOX, CNN and MSNBC in the second hour. AEW was #7 in 18-34 and #3 among non-news shows. It was #16 in males 12-34, much less than usual, but both NXT and Dynamite had drop there. Dynamite was #12 in women 12-34 and third among non-news shows in that demo.

Dynamite doubled NXT in men 18-34, almost doubled in women 18-34, more than doubled men 35-49 and almost doubled women 35-49. Dynamite had 38,000 in men 18-34 (down 40%), 57,000 in women 18-34 (up 23.9%), 203,000 in males 35-49 (up 10.9%) and 81,000 in women 35-49 (up 9.5).
