Ratings Breakdown For This Week’s Episodes of NXT and AEW Dynamite

As we reported yesterday, AEW Dynamite defeated NXT with their big anniversary show, gaining 826,000 and a 0.30 rating in the key 18-49 demographic (383,000 viewers) compared to NXT’s 651,000 viewers and 0.17 rating (225,000 viewers). As with last week, NXT didn’t make the top 50 (just outside at #51), so not all of the usual data will be available. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a breakdown of the numbers, including quarter-by-quarter.

AEW was #15 in 18-49, behind the two MLB games, ten news shows on Fox News, Real Housewives of Orange County and a movie on Lifetime. It was sixth in its time slot, as the other shows aired outside of it. AEW had a huge drop with women, but was #8 in Males 18-49, #8 in 18-34 and #5 in Males 12-34. AEW was up 9.7% overall but down 4.5% in 18-49. Most of the gains were in the 50+ demo. NXT was up 1.9% in viewers and 6.1% in 18-49. AEW did manage to double NXT in men 18-34 and nearly did so in men 35-49. Teenage girls dropped 47% while teenage boys were up 1.3%.

Dynamite had 80,000 in men 18-34 (up 31.1%), 46,000 in women 18-34 (down 32.4%), 183,000 in men 35-49 (down 10.3%) and 74,000 in women 35-49 (up 8.8%). By comparison, NXT had 32,000 in men 18-34 (up 10.3%), 35,000 in women 18-34 (up 29.6%), 94,000 in men 35-49 (up 2.2%) and 64,000 in women 35-49 (same as last week).

Q1: FTR vs. Best Friends – 880,000 viewers, 378,000 in 18-49
Q2: Miro attacks Best Friends/Miro & Kip Sabian vs. Sean Maluta & Lee Johnson – 804,000 viewers (down 76,000), 367,000 in 18-49 (down 11,000)
Q3: MJF & Inner Circle segment/Tony Schiavone & Britt Baker segment – 876,000 viewers (up 72,000), 400,000 in 18-49 (up 33,000)
Q4: Cody vs. Orange Cassidy – 765,000 viewers (down 111,000), 377,000 in 18-49 (down 23,000)
Q5: End of Cody vs. Cassidy/Matt Hardy interview – 920,000 viewers (up 155,000), 453,000 in 18-49 (up 76,000)
Q6: Tag Team segment/Hikaru Shida vs. Big Swole – 761,000 viewers (down 159,000), 369,000 in 18-49 (down 84,000)
Q7: End of Shida vs. Swole – 781,000 viewers (up 20,000), 340,000 in 18-49 (down 29,000)
Q8: Jon Moxley vs. Lance Archer – 825,000 viewers (up 44,000), 378,000 in 18-49 (up 38,000)

Q1: Undisputed Era vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch – 781,000 viewers, 239,000 in 18-49
Q2: End of tag match/Ember Moon promo/Jake Atlas vs. Ashante Adonis – 685,000 viewers (down 96,000), 225,000 in 18-49 (down 14,000)
Q3: Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae interview/Gargano vs. Austin Theory – 669,000 viewers (down 16,000), 230,000 in 18-49 (up 5,000)
Q4: End of Gargano vs. Theory/Raquel Gonzalez & Rhea Ripley brawl – 644,000 viewers (down 25,000), 229,000 in 18-49 (down 1,000)
Q5: Candice LeRae vs. Shotzi Blackheart – 658,000 viewers (up 13,000), 218,000 in 18-49 (down 11,000)
Q6: Killian Dain & Drake Maverick segment/Toni Storm vs. Aliyah/William Regal, Xia Li & Boa segment – 654,000 viewers (down 4,000), 216,000 in 18-49 (down 2,000)

AEW had a 0.10 in 12-17 (down 23.1%), 0.18 in 18-34 (down 2.3%), 0.42 in 35-49 (down 5.5%) and 0.35 in 50+ (up 34.6%). The audience was 68.7% male in 18-49 and 65.2% male in 12-17.
