Royal Rumble Surprises Not Guarded Closely This Year

Fightful Select reports that this year’s Royal Rumble surprises, which included Carlito and Victoria, among others, were not as closely guarded as they had been in previous years. In the past, surprises had been at various points kept on busses away from everyone else.

This year, several of the surprises were on hand for the women’s rehearsals on Saturday afternoon, and everyone knew they would be taking part. Others were at the hotel spending time with talent the night before the event. One other surprise was hanging around backstage on Sunday and “nobody really thought anything of it,” as WWE legends appear backstage regularly. The planning of this year’s Rumble was said to be more laid back than it has been in the past.
