Sean Waltman Talks Sasha Banks’ Return on Raw, Becoming a Regular at WWE Performance Center

– On the latest X-Pac 12360, Sean Waltman weighed in on Sasha Banks’ big return on Raw and talked about becoming a more regular presence at the WWE Performance Center. Banks made her return after a four-month hiatus on Raw and attacked Natalya and Becky Lynch, seemingly propelling her directly into a feud with Lynch.

On being down at the Performance Center on a regular basis: “Here’s the thing, going down there on a regular basis and building a relationship with the talent. And when you build that relationship, that’s when you could really get through to them, and that connection. And you’re comfortable saying things to each other and giving feedback, giving honest feedback without worrying about hurting feelings, things like that. And it’s just — and that relationship, you build that relationship with them, and then when you see them go out there and f**king kill it in a match and you had something to do with that. It’s just really, it’s the next best thing. I was mentioning this in some newspaper interview I did, and we’re talking about the things that you miss. Like, how hard it is when you’re done wrestling because you don’t get that instant gratification of going out there and knowing you did a good job immediately, as opposed to putting out an album, or a movie, or even a TV show where you gotta wait till the show comes out or the album comes out, or the movie comes out to get feedback. So you can know how you did, or at least how the people think you did. So anyways, this is where you get that instant feedback … it’s the next best thing, that’s what I was telling [the interviewer] in this newspaper interview I did, it’s the next best thing to actually getting it yourself. We live vicariously through the guys that we’re helping. And it’s great.”

On Sasha Banks’ return on Raw: “The other thing from last night that stood out to me, was Nattie coming out. And eesh, she lays it on thick right — often, because she’s very — when she’s out there talking, for better or worse it’s coming from a real authentic place with her, right? And when so she’s out there, and she’s laying it on pretty thick, and then she talks about her father. It’s hard to boo somebody when they’re talking about their father passing, right? And then when Sasha comes out, and just f**king, like — it was just really good s**t. It was really good stuff … Sasha was, the intensity. [She] f**ked [Natalya] up, then Becky [Lynch] came out and she f**ked her up too.”
On how he thinks Banks’ return will play out: “That depends on how they book it. I just think she’s done her part already … here’s the thing, though. For anyone that’s in charge of writing or you know, creative or whatever, don’t assume that the people are all gonna just jump on the Becky train on this. Because some people are going to be for Sasha.”
