Shawn Dean Donates Ring Jacket To International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame

The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced that AEW wrestler Shawn Dean donated his ring jacket to them. The announcement reads:

Navy Veteran and AEW Star Gifts Original Ring Jacket to “The Hall”

12/7/2022 – ALBANY, NY – The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame wants to send a special “Thank You” to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star and backstage producer, “The Captain” Shawn Dean for his generous donation to the Hall.

This past September, AEW made its debut in the MVP Arena and prior to the show, we opened our doors to the staff and crew of All Elite Wrestling to visit. The likes of Anna Jay, Julia Hart, Jerry Lynn, The Acclaimed and Hook; among many others stopped by. “Captain” Dean came in and was so impressed that he went into his bags and donated a prized personal treasure; a ring worn jacket used in the early days of his wrestling career.

In the video posted to IPWHF social media, “Captain” Dean talks with Rita Marie about the jacket’s history, the meaning behind the many patches adorning the piece, and its personal importance.

The donation came as a surprise, but a surprise we’ll cherish. We want to, once again, thank the amazing crew of All Elite Wrestling for coming by and visiting us at the Hall. We’re also extremely humbled and grateful for the gift and thank “The Captain” for his service to our country.

The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame is a registered 501-c(3) nonprofit and chartered by the NYS Dept. of Education as an educational museum. The IPWHF is an all-volunteer run organization and relies on grassroots donations from members of the community to help maintain the physical museum at the MVP Arena.
