Sol Ruca Admits She’s Not a Great Surfer

While she has been promoted as a surfer on WWE TV and has the look of one, Sol Ruca says she’s actually not great at surfing. In an interview with Busted Open Radio (via Fightful), Ruca explained that she can surf, she’s just not good at it.

Sol Ruca said: “I am not a great surfer. I can surf, but I’m not very good. I was born in Southern California. I love the beach, I have tattoos of sharks on my arm, I look the part. Lived in Hawaii for a few years. I’ve always loved surfing, I love all the surfing movies, but I had no time growing up to surf. I did snowboard. I grew up snowboarding. I’m much better at that. I started surfing probably when I was 12, which is pretty late to start a sport like surfing. I go as much as I can.”

“I can stand up and do a little cut. The biggest wave I’ve ever surfed was six feet in Hawaii, which was one time. I’m not that great. I’m just okay. I have never been like, ‘I’m a good surfer. I can surf.’ It’s always been them being like, ‘Oh, this is what she does.’ There’s one package I did and there is a video of someone surfing and I’m like, ‘that’s not even me.’ There is video of me surfing, but the wave was tiny.”
