UPDATE 2: PWInsider has provided a new backstage report on tonight’s main event. According to the report, there was some talk of the women’s tag team title match closing the show. However, it seems there’s been a push backstage “in the last few hours” to have the WWE World Championship match, which is taking place inside the Elimination Chamber, instead.

Fightful.com has also published a report on what happened, based on the original report from the Fightful Selects podcast on the main event being the women’s tag team title match.

The Fightful report states that Superstars backstage were told earlier today that the women’s tag team title match would be the main event. However, things apparently changed later today.

Before 4PM EST, Vince McMahon reportedly made the decision to swap around the Chamber matches, with the men’s WWE World Championship match being the actual main event for the card. Per the report, McMahon feared that the women’s tag team title match would not get the reaction he wanted for the final match on the show.

According to Fightful, this was a “minute-by-minute change.” Apparently at the start of the day, WWE did not have a set plan on what match was going to be last on the card. The WWE reportedly had the option to change both matches around since they are both being held in the Elimination Chamber cage.

Daniel Bryan is set to defend his WWE title against AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, and Kofi Kingston. He’s currently the betting favorite to win the match.

Be sure to tune into 411 for our live play-by-play coverage of the event later tonight.

UPDATE: Ringside News reports that the men’s Elimination Chamber match will be the final match on the Elimination Chamber show tonight, not the women’s Elimination Chamber match.

ORIGINAL: According to the Fightful Select podcast (via Ringside News), the WWE women’s tag team title match taking place inside the Elimination Chamber will be the final match.

Per the latest betting odds for tonight’s match, Bayley and Sasha Banks are currently the favorite to win the match and the new WWE women’s tag team titles. The match will also feature the teams of The Riott Squad, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, The IIconics, Naomi and Carmella, and Nia Jax and Tamina.

WWE Elimination Chamber is set for later tonight in Houston, Texas. The event will be held at the Toyota Center. The show will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
