– Steve Austin discussed WWE’s trademarking of the term “3:16” in a new interview promoting the new season of Broken Skull Ranch. WWE filed for the trademark late last month regarding the term, which became an Austin catchphrase after he beat Jake Roberts at King of the Ring 1996.

Asked about the trademark by Wrestling Inc, Austin said, “Smart move, I wish I would have thought about it.” He joked, “Hell, I didn’t want to mess with John [i.e. John 3:16]! Nah man, I’m cool with it. I think Stephen Colbert did something about it, I didn’t see it.”

The fifth season of Austin’s reality competition show premieres on September 26th at 10 PM ET on CMT.
