– Speaking to Fightful, wrestler Thunder Rosa discussed her status with MMA promotion Combate Americas. In 2019, Thunder Rosa signed a multi-fight contract with the organization. She lost in her MMA debut against Nadine Mandiau at Combate Americas event in November 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Below are some highlights.

Thunder Rosa on her Combate status: “I’m still with Combate, yes. Until September. Most definitely they’re going to have me do a fight now. Especially with the popularity that Thunder Rosa has acquired in the last year. I mean, it’s been incredible. My social media back then when I was fighting for them, it was 60,000. Now I’m 100,000 more followers and I think by the time I fight it’s gonna be 200,000. It’s like 140,000 followers. It’s such a huge difference and the same with Twitter. So, I know there has been talks. But, like I said, I am, right now, 100% dedicated to professional wrestling. Like I said, when you are doing these disciplines, you have to commit 1000% to each discipline to be successful.”

Rosa on her MMA debut: “I think one of the things that hindered me on the first fight was the fact that I was continuously wrestling while I was doing my fight camp and I feel like my coach didn’t understand that part. I told him, like, ‘I make a living out of wrestling and MMA is something new that I picked up and it’s also I really enjoy and I’m really driven and I’m here. It’s art.’ I just can’t even explain to you, because a lot of it has to do with mental game and I think right then when I started, my game wasn’t there. But, I think now, after all this time, and now knowing now how it really feels to be in the cage and knowing how really feels to bleed and everything, my mentality is completely different. So, my strategy is going to be completely different once I step in the cage again.”
