Tony Khan on If He’s Open to a WWE & AEW Joint Show, Compares It to Marvel & DC
– During a recent edition of WTF with Marc Maron, AEW President & CEO Tony Khan was asked about possibly working on a joint show between AEW and WWE. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):
Tony Khan on a possible joint show between AEW and WWE: “Who knows? It’s something I would certainly be open to, and I think it’s an interesting thing for the future. It’s not something that’s ever really been done. They’ve kind of existed in their own space. We are working with a lot of wrestling promotions, and at times they’ve done stuff like that. But it would be a really interesting thing to see at some point.”
On how it would be like Marvel and DC: “I think it’s like Marvel and DC. You don’t see those superheroes really crossing over very much. … I think there’d be a lot of jostling for who’s going to be positioned stronger. It would get very political.”
There have been some Marvel and DC collaborations in the past. The last major crossover between Marvel and DC Comics was the JLA/Avengers miniseries that ran from 2003-2004.
