Tony Schiavone on Eric Bischoff Only Prolonging WCW’s Demise

– On the latest edition of What Happened When, Tony Schiavone recalled the era of Eric Bischoff running WCW and how he only “prolonged” the inevitable end of the company. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):
Tony Schiavone on the era of WCW before Eric Bischoff took over: “During this era, between 1990 and before Eric [Bischoff] took over, I was just kind of waiting for all of this to end. I was waiting for it. I thought in my mind, any time, Turner is going to say ‘You’re done.'”
On Bischoff only prolonging the inevitable: “Bischoff just prolonged it. That’s all he did. He came in with great ideas and a great vision and did great things, and it just prolonged what the eventual reality would be, and that is Turner getting tired of wrestling.”
