Update on Creative Plans For Drew McIntyre on WWE Smackdown Brand
February 7, 2025 | Posted by

Drew McIntyre was recently moved to the Smackdown brand in WWE as part of the company’s ‘transfer window’. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that McIntyre is set to work with Damian Priest at first, after Priest eliminated him at the Royal Rumble. However, the idea of moving McIntyre to Smackdown was planned long before the feud with Priest was. It’s why McIntyre had been mentioning Roman Reigns so often in promos.
It was noted that there is also a plan to have McIntyre battle Cody Rhodes. This was in the works back in 2023, before Rhodes ended up not winning the WWE title then.
