As previously reported, a report went out a short while ago from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stating that WWE was informing talent that new, upcoming contracts would include “substantial pay increases” after the start of new TV deals later this year. This means that talent would receive higher contracts after Smackdown moves to Fox and the new Raw/USA Network deal starts. A new report by Rajah has some new details, stating that the Observer’s report is “true,” with some additional details on what WWE is willing to offer, as well as a few more details on AJ Styles.

According to the new Rajah report, a source stated that WWE is open to giving pay raises of up to 50 percent to non-wrestlers and Legends who have deals that are up for renewal. A different source stated that talent with agreements slated to expire this year are in good positions because the new WWE TV deals would bring in a surplus of new revenue. Additionally, the upcoming new wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is going to give that same talent leverage.

The report notes that WWE is looking to do “everything in their power” in order to keep AJ Styles in the company. This was basically already indicated by a report on The Wrestling Observer Radio, stating that Styles’ contract expiring in April and the upcoming launch of AEW put him in a “fortuitous” position with WWE.

The Rajah report does state that WWE is willing to give Styles “massive concessions” on his work schedule in order to keep him under the WWE banner.

Currently, AJ Styles is slated to face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship later tonight at the 2019 Royal Rumble event. The card is being held at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The event will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
