Vince McMahon Decided Kofi Kinston Would Get Fastlane Title Shot After Elimination Chamber
– Kofi Kingston’s match against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship isn’t part of a long term plan by any measure. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Vince McMahon decided to make Kingston the next challenger for Bryan’s title after hearing his crowd reaction at Elimination Chamber.
Meltzer said (per Ringside News), “The basic gist was Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston was not the scheduled main event at Fastlane and because of the reaction on Sunday Vince McMahon changed direction and made Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston the main event for Fastlane. How that relates to WrestleMania, I don’t know.”
Kingston was announced as Bryan’s opponent at the end of this week’s Smackdown. Fastlane takes place on March 10th from Cleveland, Ohio and airs live on WWE Network.
