It was reported earlier this week that even though there is concern over the AAA shows at Madison Square Garden on September 15 and The Forum in Los Angeles on October 13, both shows are still on. A press release is expected to happen soon for the MSG show and Cain Velasquez is in talks for the event. There will be no AEW talent on that card. The only match confirmed so far is Tessa Blanchard vs. Taya Valkyrie for the Reina de Reinas title. Only 2,000 tickets have been sold so far. They weren’t promoting the event on social media for a time, but now have begun to do so, albeit without any kind of matches advertised.

The concerns seem to come from the fact that the announcers haven’t been mentioning the event on weekend TV and the card has yet to be announced. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a possible reason for the lack of a card is that there is an issue with visas. If a promoter isn’t sure which talent will be available, they can’t book them for the event.

Japanese talent have had similar issues, but under the Trump Administration, it has been very difficult for Mexican wrestlers to obtain visas. The visas used to take a month, but now some have taken around eight months and in some cases they haven’t been approved even after that long. The MSG show is still a month away and with some talent not approved, that means it’s hard to determine what the card will be.

It’s not just the talent that are being hampered, as the TV production team also doesn’t have visas which makes it had to bring in people that are familiar with how AAA shoots their television shows.
