Wolfgang Reflects on His NXT UK Journey, Says He Still Works at His Father’s Bar
– Wolfgang spoke with the Daily Star for a new interview reflecting on his journey to NXT UK, working at his family bar and more.
On working at his family’s bar in Glasgow before he got into the business: “I was fortunate that I had a job where I work around wrestling, and the pub supported it, off that back of that I was able to get in the ring more and train more. If it wasn’t for my dad, I probably would have had a more difficult time of it.”
On still occasionally working at the bar: “I go back from time to time and see if they need a hand, if they need some pints pulled or the bar watched. Going back is nice because I worked it for ten solid years, so you have all the characters and the locals, that is the kind of bar that it is. It is a real friendly place with a real family feel.”
On making it to NXT UK: “Two and a half years ago If you told me all this was going to have happened it would have seen a million miles away. To be in this position and looking back, we have accomplished a lot, we have done everything we can to get it to this point. Not only performing in the ring, but drumming up interest, and the UK fans have been choking for this for a long time. We did it, we got our own weekly show with our guys on with it a platform given to us by WWE. We can show now how deep the talent pool is in the UK.”
