WWE’s creative department has quietly adjusted its structure heading into early 2026, refining leadership without changing its overall power hierarchy as they oversee the direction of WWE superstars. In a new PWInsider (via noDQ) report, the most notable shift places longtime writer Ryan Ward in charge of creative direction for both RAW and SmackDown. Internally, the move has been described as “a recent adjustment” rather than a full reorganization.

Despite Ward’s expanded role, PWInsider reports that Paul “Triple H” Levesque remains firmly in control as WWE’s Chief Content Officer. He continues to hold final authority over major booking decisions, long-term storytelling, and creative direction across all programming. At the executive level, Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey remain the two “tenured voices.” Prichard oversees the broader creative process. Koskey’s focus remains on script review, tone consistency, and alignment with WWE’s corporate and brand goals.

Each brand also maintains its own creative leadership. On SmackDown, “Road Dogg” Brian James and John Switaka share co-lead responsibilities in the creative process, shaping weekly narratives and segment flow. RAW’s creative team is co-led by Alexandra Williams and Jonathan Baeckstrom, who manage story development as the show continues its run in the Netflix era and builds toward WWE Royal Rumble 2026.
