WWE News: Ambrose Now Called “WWE Champion,” Titles For New General Managers, More
June 27, 2016 | Posted by
– During Raw, WWE began to refer to Dean Ambrose as “WWE Champion” instead of “WWE World Heavyweight Champion.” This is likely to be the beginning of the change toward the company having two World champions after the Brand Split and WWE Draft. During the last Brand Extension the champions were the WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion.
The graphic for his name and his Battleground match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were also changed in the same way.
– Michael Cole said on Raw that the people in charge of Raw and Smackdown after the Brand Split takes effect will be referred to as Chief Operating Officers (COOs).
– The official theme song for WWE Battleground is “This Is War” by The Phantoms.
