WWE Removes Location Information From Crown Jewel Advertising
– It is conceivable that WWE may not be holding Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia after all. The company has removed the location information from the PPV from their main page for the event, as well as the link to buy tickets from. The move comes in the midst of US Senators calling for the company to rethink holding the event in Saudi Arabia due to the disappearance of Saudi-born journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is believed by Turkish authorities to have been kidnapped and possibly murdered while visiting a Saudi embassy in the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday, WWE said it was monitoring the situation,” though it was reported over the weekend that plans were still on for the show. It is not yet known whether the removal of the ticketing information and location means the show is being moved to another locale or even canceled altogether.
It is worth mentioning that, while the main site has removed references to the show taking place in Riyadh, as of this writing some of the individual match pages still list the location. WWE has not yet commented on the removal of the information.
Crown Jewel was set to take place on November 2nd, and that date is still listed as is the 12 PM ET start time.
