WWE Suing Foreign Distributor Transworld TV For Withholding Money Owed
– WWE has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Transworld Television for allegedly withholding money from them. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the company has sued Transworld, who distributed their programming in certain area, over unpaid debts.
According to the lawsuit, WWE struck an agreement with Transworld TV that gave the latter the right to solicit licensing agreements for the company within particular geographic areas in exchange for a portion of the revenue earned. Transworld signed a deal to license programming for TV in Africa and the Middle East, but failed to pay any money despite collecting three payments last year.
WWE is asking a judge for the money owed ($337,142.98) as well as interest and legal fees. The company claims they have yet to hear back from the company despite multiple invoices and emails.
