WWE Withholding Royal Rumble Announcement, Originally Planned For August
July 30, 2020 | Posted by
WrestleVotes reports that WWE had been set to announce the date and venue for the 2021 Royal Rumble next month, but has now decided to hold off on it. Obviously this is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as it’s unknown if WWE will even be able to run an event like the Rumble in an arena by January. They experienced a similar issue with this year’s Summerslam, which had been set for Boston but when the pandemic showed no signs of slowing down, was moved to the Performance Center with WWE’s other TV shows.
WWE had planned on announcing the 2021 Royal Rumble date and location in early August. I’ve been told that announcement is on hold as the details regarding the event are likely changing.
