Nick Roehrick Gets One Year Doping Suspension From USADA
UFC fighter Nick Roehrick has received and accepted a one-year suspension from the US Anti-Doping Agency for a doping violation. USADA announced on Thursday (via MMAjunkie that Roehrick will be supended for a year due to an out-of-competition test that was conducted on August 8th. The test revealed presence of clomiphene, an estrogen blocker, and its metabolite.
The supension is retroactive to August 17th, the date of his provisional suspension.
The statement notes, “Clomiphene also indirectly promotes the secretion of testosterone. Increasing testosterone, especially when combined with strength training, has been demonstrated to increase fat-free mass, muscle size and strength in males, potentially leading to performance enhancement in sport.”
Roehrick made his UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 25, losing to Jarod Cannonier.
