Backstage Note on Attendance for This Week’s AEW Dynamite in Miami
– According to Dave Meltzer on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite has sold about 3,500 tickets for Wednesday night in Miami, Florida. The show, the start of AEW’s first ticketed event tour since the start of the pandemic, is being held at the James L. Knight Center.
Initially, only 1,200 tickets were made available for the event. After those seats quickly sold out, AEW made significantly more seats available for the event. Meltzer stated that the venue could hold an attendance of about 4,800 people for a wrestling event. However, AEW was apparently hurt with ticket sales for the event by only being able to sell a threshold of about 1,200 tickets on the first day tickets went on sale, which is when all the momentum for ticket sales usually go.
That said, Meltzer noted that this will still be the largest ticketed crowd for a wrestling event so far this year other than WWE WrestleMania 37 and AEW Double or Nothing 2021.
Tickets for this week’s AEW Dynamite are still available on Ticketmaster.com. The show will be broadcast live on TNT at 8:00 pm ET. Here’s the updated lineup:
