NXT Universe! NXT crew, unite, for tonight is a brand-new episode of the Tuesday Night stalwart known as NXT!

After an exciting Saturday in San Antonio, the NXT brand has been turned in a new (or perhaps old) direction, as Oba Femi is once again the NXT Men’s World Champion! And we know that, at New Year’s Evil, he will be facing the Bouncy Boy, Je’Von Evans, after he won the Men’s Iron Survivor at Deadline. However, we also saw the return of Tony D’Angelo, who attacked Evans post-match after he had survived the 25-minute spectacle. And in an AAA-NXT crossover match, North American Champion (and Canada’s finest wrestling export on the male side) Ethan Page retained his title in a match with Mr. Iguana.

Elsewhere, on the women’s side of the show, Izzi Dame completed the circle of treachery, defeating Tatum Paxley. And on the World Title scene, WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey scored what has to be an upset, as she outlasted the field of four other women to win their Iron Survivor, granting her a title shot against Jacy Jayne at, assumedly at New Year’s Evil.

And so that brings us to tonight, back in the Performance Center in Orlando! Blake Monroe will defend her NXT North American Women’s Title in an open challenge (despite Ava saying that it was a bad idea, yet she approved it). And three days after partaking in the Women’s Iron Survivor at Deadline, the issues between Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace will continue in a singles match between the two former TNA Knockouts Champions.

Elsewhere on the card, Shiloh Hill, the LFG Season 2 participant who has been “downloading us” information over the past couple of weeks, will download himself into his NXT in-ring debut against an opponent to be named. And, fresh off an excursion to Japan and even winning the GHC Tag Team Titles in Pro Wrestling-NOAH, Hank and Tank will return to NXT! All of this and, surely, so much more in store for us tonight!

So, how are you people on this fine Tuesday Night? I will admit to being very numb to the consistent Eagles losses, with it being three in a row against the Chargers on Monday Night. They might still win the NFC East, but it is going to be by proxy/default, and not because they actually deserved it. On the flip side, the Pacers have won back-t0-back games for the first time this year, the Flyers gave the Avalanche hell on Sunday before losing 3-2, and the Phillies have re-signed Kyle Schwarber to a 5-year, 150-million-dollar contract to stay in Philadelphia. And I was starting to have serious concerns about the Phillies front office being asleep at the wheel so far this off-season LOL!

But enough about that, let’s get ready for another night of an easy, breezy, beautiful, two hours of NXT!

Tonight, NXT has returned to the Mother Base, the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida! Vic Joseph and King Booker T will be on the call tonight!

The Ruler is here to open the show! Makes total sense, since Femi is, once again, the NXT Men’s World Champion! Vic says that Oba is one of only five men to hold the NXT World title twice, so he’s in rarified air!

Power, true power, it doesn’t bend, it doesn’t break, it doesn’t beg, it stands still and it watches the world revolve around it, says Femi. This is true power; this is a two-time champion. The stars aligned for Ricky Saints; he was able to knock the Ruler off. But let’s be real, NXT is not the same without the Ruler. The world manages to correct itself, and the Ruler rose to regain his title. It belongs with me, it is on my shoulder, because that is the way that it should be. He is done with Ricky Saints. On Saturday Night Main Event, he will look across the ring from Cody Rhodes. When Cody looks at him, he won’t see potential, he will see The Ruler in all of his glory. In all of his power. In all of his abilities, the Ruler, Oba Femi!

Well, apparently, Ricky is NOT done with Femi lol. He wants to be the first to congratulate you. Prophecy fulfilled. His bag is lighter because you did exactly what you said you would do. That’s why he shook his hand, because he did what he said he was going to do, and he was the bigger man. On the drive home, he started to think about what is next for Ricky Saints. He looks at Oba right now, and he thinks that it is, that he has no chance to regain the title.

BUT he remembers who the hell he is! He is Ricky Saints, he will put all this on his heart, and he will get back in line. He will put everything back on track and make it right. As it stands, the score is Oba Femi one, Ricky Saints, one! So, Ricky wants his rematch!

YA HERD? Je’Von Evans is here! He doesn’t mean to interrupt, but he has been watching Deadline over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over! He won the Iron Survivor! And that means he earned a title shot at New Year’s Evil. But then, that made him wonder, why would he wait until January to have a match? He’s on fire. He’s locked in right now. He’s ready right now. No one is taking his moment. So, how about Evans has that NXT Title match tonight?

Ricky says what’s the rush. You are on fire, you are having great matches, what is the rush? If Ricky gets his rematch, it can be Ricky and Je’Von, and that is way better than whatever this play is. Are you sure?

Evans says that’s all he hears. He keeps hearing the future, but he is the right now. The stars don’t have to line up for him; he puts himself in there. No one is touching him at the age of 21. He’s been going crazy. He’s been everywhere. Oba, you’re the man I have to beat for that title, and if he puts his money on anyone, it will be Je’Von Evans.

Ricky changes his mind and tells Evans that this is his moment, go ahead and go for it!

Femi says enough of this. Ricky says is the Ruler scared? Evans says that he has Femi’s number. Femi says he is not afraid. In fact, every time they lock up, he has beaten Evans, and that will not change tonight. So, you know what? GAME ON!

There is a state down between the three men as Vic implores Ava to sign the damn match!

The Progressive Spotlight documents the history between Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace, from Kelani being exiled by the NXT girls, to her hitting Grace in the head with the title belt, to Jordan losing the TNA Knockouts Title at Gold Rush, to the events from Deadline. Presumptively, I would say that this match will lead us off, right after the break.

We’re closing in on the end for John Cena, as wrestlers, past and present, lament that WrestleMania is not the same without Cena. I wonder if that is possibly hinting at something, you know, like maybe this Saturday is NOT the end for his storied career? We’ll have to wait and see, as Cena will face Gunther on Saturday Night Main Event which uh, guess who be covering that one for you? 😉

Tatum Paxley in the back. Izzi claimed that she would end this hopeless version of Tatum, and she did. But now, Tatum has nothing to lose, and you do, Izzi. So, we are going to play my game. One-by-one, two will go, and then it will only be me and you, Izzi!

Kelani Jordan vs. Jordynne Grace

This won’t wait until the bell, as Grace makes her way down, and Jordan meets her on the ramp! They fight into the ring, as the re rings the ball, and Jordan gets slammed twice. She avoids a third one, but she runs into a Michinoku Driver for a two. Jordan escapes another Grace power move, but Grace throws Jordan into the corner face first. Running knee strike and an elbow from Grace to Jordan. Grace misses her Vader Bomb, though, and Jordan goes to work on the knee of Grace.

Jordan with repeat attacks to the knee as she tries to keep the Juggernaut grounded. Grace ends up on her feet and back out onto the apron. Jordan follows out, and she holds on for dear life as Grace tries to hit a German from the apron. Both ladies jockey for position on the apron, Jordan ducks’ underneath looking for a sunset flip. Grace goes to drop a knee on Jordan, but Jordan moves, and Grace hammers her knee on the apron as she collapses to the floor. That’ll take us to commercial break.

Grace looking for a stretch muffler as we return from break. Jordan fights out of it, so Grace hits an overhead suplex, sending Jordan out and to the floor. Grace follows out, escapes the grasp of Grace, and she hits a Nature Boy approved chop block. Jordan shoves Grace into the ring steps and looks under the ring, finding a chair. She goes to hit Grace with it, but she moves, and Jordan smacks the ring steps instead.

Grace returns Jordan to the ring and hits her with a spinebuster for a two. Grace with a submission attempt, but Jordan turns it around. Both ladies are in a headstand spot, slapping at one another lol. That was creative.

Both women to their feet, as Grace powers Jordan to the corner and rams her in repeatedly. Grace rolls through with Jordan and hits a rolling German with the bridge for a two. Jordan sends Grace out to the floor, but Grace grabs Jordan and drags her to the floor. Her Tombstone is reversed, Jordan’s tombstone is reversed, Grace avoids getting shoved into the steps as she shoves Jordan into the steps instead. She hits a Vader Bomb off the steps and grabs the chair that Jordan had!

Grace up the steps, but the ref grabs the chair from her. Jordan uses this distraction to kick Grace through the barricade! She returns Grace to the ring and hits the 450 Splash for the win!
WINNER: Kelani Jordan

THOUGHTS: These women both have great chemistry, as they have shared the ring on plenty of occasions, and this one was good. I wonder what they have planned for Jordan next, and when Grace makes it to the main roster.

We’re in the NXT Women’s locker room (giggity) when we return. Jordynne Grace complains about not being able to beat rookies, and now, she can’t beat Kelani Jordan. Thea Hail is here! She wants to remind her that she is Jordynne Grace.

Grace: I don’t need advice from a 16-year-old.
Hail: I’m actually 22.

Blake Monroe’s Open Challenge for the NXT Women’s North American Title

Blake has the mic before the match. She knows that all the women in the back idolize and adore her! She feels that everyone needs a little bit of glamour in their lives, and she is going to give that to them. So, who is going to be the lucky one to accept her challenge.

Nearly the entire women’s roster comes down the ramp. Monroe screams for Ava, but here comes Hail from behind! She throws on a guillotine, and Monroe taps out, btu the match is not official! Monroe rolls out of the ring, surrounded by the NXT women, as Hail runs around the ring like she just scored a goal in footie lol.

Kelly Kincaid in the back with Shiloh Hill. He says he is excited for his first match, and he has so much pent-up energy that he is going to unleash on somebody. He puts in his mouth guard, gives the thumbs, and heads off.

COMMERCIALS!

Lexis King is in the ring as we return from break. He’s uh, going to be the first win for Hill, isn’t he? Man, how the mighty have fallen.

Shiloh Hill vs. Lexis King

King charges Hill, but Hill sends him out of the ring before the bell rings. King gets his face smacked off the announce table, as Hill returns him to the ring. The bell rings, as Hill rushes King into the corner. King manages to hit a drop toehold on Hill in the corner and scores a two. Pillman with a knee to the ribs of Hill, as he talks some smack and hits some chops. King off the ropes with a basement dropkick for a two.

Vic says Booker T should come out of retirement like Phillip Rivers did as King chokes Hill in the corner. He scraps the boot in Hill’s face, and he does the Nature Boy shuffle, but Hill is firing up. He hits a lariat, rips out his mouthpiece and hands it to the ref lol.

Hill with lariats and flying shoulder tackle for a two. King fires back with a kick to the gut and a Superkick, but Hill no sells it. Hill picks up King and hits Whisper to the Beast (Pop-up neck breaker) for the win.
WINNER: Shiloh Hill
TIME: 3:00
THOUGHTS: Not a bad debut for Hill. Kind of surprised that they fed King to him, but he seems to be spinning in the hamster wheel, so it doesn’t hurt him at all.

We see Ethan Page with both of his titles walking, as we head out for commercials.

Kelly is back with Oba Femi. She says anything can happen in NXT, as he has a match with Cody Rhodes this Saturday, but tonight, he now has a title defense against Je’Von Evans. Femi says that he hopes Cody Rhodes is watching tonight. He knows what Je’Von Evans is capable of, but he has no idea what Femi is capable of. He will visit Cody’s domain, he will put him in the ground, and tonight, he will bury the Iron Survivor. He must prepare!

THE GREATEST NORTH AMERICAN OF ALL-TIME IS HERE! The censor is working overtime here, and I hope it doesn’t cut off Ethan’s glorious speech.

Page says that he faces insiders, outsiders, and reptiles, it doesn’t matter, because he is the best. When he came to NXT, he wanted to soak up all the knowledge that he could. When people asked, “how do you throw a dropkick”, Page asked, “how does he break that guys jaw”? He says that these wrestlers are too worried about their TikTok and their finger pointing, as they get a selfie with their favorite wrestler. Everyone in the back can sit down and watch him.

But Page says that everyone is going to collectively sit and watch John Cena. After Saturday, there will be a giant hole in the company, and only a man with a giant ego can fill it! His path back to the NXT Title was blocked, so he turned his attention to the North American title. And he has made it the most prestigious title in the industry. Everyone from other companies have sent people after him, and he is still champion. He then went and added the Triple A mixed tag team titles. There are three days that decide your life. The day that you enter this world, the day that you exit this world, and the day that you realize that Ethan Page is the best damn athlete in all of professional wrestling.

The lights go out, and we see a vignette of someone walking. Page braces for an attack, and Tony D’Angelo appears in the ring. Page says DAMN IT and turns around into a standing chokeslam. D’Angelo lays some black rose pedals on Page.

Sol Ruca is walking in the back! We see Wren Sinclair walking with the Iron Survivor winner, Kendal Grey! Wren and Sol will face off next!

COMMERCIALS!

We see the members of DarkState walking in the back. Dion Lennox walks away from the gang and joins Ava, Myles Bourne, Joe Hendry, and Leon Slater. Ava says since Je’Von is channeling for the title tonight, these four guys will face off in a Fatal Four-Way to determine the next #1 contender. Ethan Page storms in and asks what the hell is going on? Lennox corpses, while Bourne tells Page that Tony is behind him! Page looks and gets even more pissed off lol.

We see Wren and Kendal in the ring already!

Wren Sinclair vs. Sol Ruca

Early lock-up by the women at the bell. Sinclair goes after the leg of Ruca, but Ruca reverses it with a headlock. Off the ropes, misdirection from Ruca, but Sinclair with a roll-up for a two. Ruca replies with a face buster for a two. We see Zaria watching from the crowd, and the distraction allows Sinclair to roll-up Ruca for a two. Ruca responds in kind with a roll-up for a two. Sinclair off the ropes with a bulldog for a two.

Sinclair looking for a submission of some kind. Ruca is stuck in the middle of the ring, as she elbows Sinclair in the head to break the hold. Ruca kips up and kicks Sinclair in the head. Two shoulder blocks from Ruca leads to a missile dropkick. Big slap from Sinclair and overhand slaps to follow. Sinclair with double underhook suplex. Sinclair charges in, but Ruca in and out of the corner, and the Sol Snatcher gets her the win!
WINNER: Sol Ruca
TIME: 3:30
THOUGHTS: A win for Ruca ahead of her match with Bayley this Saturday, which will definitely be an interesting one. Sinclair got some shine, but she was here to lose the match.

Post-match, Zaria leaves, as Ruca runs after here. Fatal Influence is here now, as we head out for commercial break!

All the ladies are still in the ring as we return. Jayne on the mic. Look at you, Kendal, you went from unknown to the Iron Survivor, and you should be proud of yourself. Take a piece of advice from your locker room leader, this will be as good as it gets. These fans are hyping you up. Kendal stock will never be higher. You are living the dream. This is why people say they want to do this, so they can feel the love and support that you are getting. She hates to say it, but the reality is going to smack you in the face at New Year’s Evil. Your 15-minutes of fame will end, and you will lose. These people will move on to the next new flavor of the month, and where does that leave you? No one else will tell you the truth, but she doesn’t mind it. Potential doesn’t win you championships. You might be the Evolve Champion, but you are not ready for the big one.

2025 was the year of Jacy Freaking Jayne. She went from underappreciated and overlooked to being the one making history. She is the first woman to hold the TNA Knockouts Title and the NXT Women’s Title at the same time. She is a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. She is the rock star of this division; she is the glue that holds this division hold together. Why would she let some bootleg Kurt Angle with a ponytail beat her?

Kendal laments my frustration when she asks if Jacy is done and can she talk. She knows that she is a rookie, and she is still learning. No one expected her to win the Iron Survivor, but here she is. No one expected Jacy to beat Stephanie, either. So, go ahead and doubt her, because the best thing about being the underdog is seeing people’s expression when the dog bites back.

Sinclair says that they already have already have one title, and when Gray wins, they will have two titles.

Lainey Reid said don’t worry about taking our titles when you aren’t ready for it. And we have a three-on-two fight breaking out. Fatal Influence stand tall, obviously, because of number games.

Hank and Tank are here via TikTok! We see their highlights of their time in Japan, and their matches in Pro Wrestling-NOAH. Apparently, the guys also learned some Japanese in their time there, as they cut some of their promo in Japanese, which is cool.

To the here and now, as Kelly says that she speaks for everyone when she says that they are thrilled to have the Belly Boys back.

OTM arrive. They were hoping that Hank and Tank would have been smart enough to stay in Japan, but they can do this again. Hank and Tank say they will get the hockey jerseys on, and they will see them next week!

Monroe wants to talk to Ava. Ava wants to know how her open challenge went, and Blake says not well. She set her up for failure, and she does not appreciate it. And don’t get her started on that little blonde bitch Thea Hail. So, the open challenge is over. Ava says that’s too bad, but she is defending the title next week against that little blonde bitch Hail next week.

Sol Ruca and Zaria are outside the arena. Zaria says that she was there to support Sol, and Ruca asks her to accompany her to her match this Saturday. Zaria says really, and Sol says yes, she hasn’t had a friend like her. They hug it out, and Sol says let’s go get some sweet treats.

Vic confirms the Hail-Monroe and the 4-way #1 contenders match for the NXT Men’s World Title for next week’s show. Love that already!

IT’S TIME TO GET BOUNCY IN THE MAIN EVENT! Je’Von Evans is here to make good on his Iron Survivor win in the main event, next!

We go back to Friday at TNA’s Final Resolution, as we see Stacks defeat Steve Maclin for the TNA International Title thanks to some crooked shit.

And back to the main event of the evening!

NXT Men’s World Title Match” Oba Femi (C) vs. Je’Von Evans

The bell rings, as Evans wants a lock-up with Femi, but he quickly regrets that decision. But he doesn’t learn much, as he wants to lock-up again. He does surprise Femi with a thrust kick on the break. His cutter is countered by Femi, but Evans hits a running knee to the head of Femi! The cover for a two. Evans tries some body blows, but Femi throws him to the opposite corner. Evans with kicks now, but one forearm stops all of that.

Femi sends off Evans, but he springboards off the top rope and hits a corkscrew kick for another two. Femi overpowers Evans and sends him into the corner. Whip by Femi, he silences the crowd as he hits a stalling back breaker. Femi stomps on Evans as he exhausts the ref’s count.

Femi applies the dreaded chin lock, as Evans squirms around on the mat. Evans to his feet, he tries to elbow his way out, but Femi grabs him by the face. Evans runs towards the corner, sending Femi face first into the corner and to the floor. Evans to the apron, he ducks a swat from Femi and kicks Femi in the face. Evans goes to springboard, but Femi pulls him down and to the floor. Evans off the apron again, Femi catches him, but Evans sends him into the ring apron. Evans looks to attack from the apron again, but Femi with a well-timed forearm cut that off, as we head into the PIP Break.

Evans looks to create separation as we return from break. But it is of little use, as Femi hits a back breaker for a two. Femi goes to setup a powerbomb, but Evans collapses to the mat. Femi mocks Evans, as Je’Von tries to land some punches. Evans does make it to his feet and lands a big right, but it only pisses off Femi, who hits an axe handle. Femi picks up Evans, but Evans takes both of them over the top and to the floor. Femi snatches up Evans again, but he snaps off a Rana.

Evans to his feet, and he just BARELY saved his life, as Femi came charging in from off-screen, as Evans throws Femi over the announce table! Evans makes it back into the ring, as Femi stumbles from the announce table like a drunken bar patron. He gets into the ring, and Evans is waiting with a Frog Splash to the back. Evans to the other corner with another Frog Splash! The cover, but Femi kicks out at two.

THIS IS AWESOME chants, as both men fight on their feet now. Evans sends Femi out and to the floor, as Je’Von is feeling BOUNCY as he clears the top rope with a tope! Evans returns Femi to the ring, but his next high-risk move meets the chop from Femi! Evans sends Femi to the mat, but Femi is waiting for him, but he runs into a CUTTER for a two! Femi pops Evans up into another CUTTER!

The pin, but someone pulls the ref out of the ring! It’s Ricky Saints! What a shock lol! Evans with a tope suicida to Saints on the floor! Evans back to the ring, he goes for another CUTTER, but Femi with a big lariat. The Fall from Grace, and the champion retains!
WINNER: Oba Femi
TIME: 13:45
THOUGHTS: A really good big man/small man match, and a great main event match. I’m not sure how many people bought into Evans winning the title so soon after Femi won it back from Saints, but it didn’t take away from the level of intrigue and suspense from all of the false finishes.
RATING: ***3/4

Post-match, Femi takes his title and heads out to the floor, as he stares at Saints, who stares into the ring at Evans.

And with that, we are done!
