Carmella Reveals That Becky Lynch & Bianca Belair Pushed for a Triple Threat Match With Her in 2022

Former WWE Superstar and Women’s Champion Carmella recently answered a fan question on social media, asking her if there was ever a plan for her to face Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch in a championship Triple Threat Match.

After Becky Lynch regained the WWE Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Carmella engaged in a feud with Belair for the title at WWE Money in the Bank 2022, and once again on Monday Night Raw, with Carmella challenging Belair for the title on the July 18 episode. After Carmella and Belair’s rematch on Raw, Belair renewed her rivalry with Lynch, with the two women facing off against each other in a title rematch at SummerSlam 2022.

According to the former SmackDown and Raw Women’s Champion, adding her into the match to make it a Triple Threat Match was never part of the creative plans. However, she did state that Lynch and Belair pushed for the idea. She wrote yesterday on her X account, “Never a plan. But I will say both Becky and B pushed for it.🫶🏻”

Carmella exited from WWE early last year after her contract expired, and WWE opted not to renew her deal. Carmella and her husband, WWE broadcaster Corey Graves, recently welcomed their second child together in October of last year.
