WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW President Eric Bischoff commented on the passing of his previous boss, former WCW owner Ted Turner, who passed away earlier today at 87 years old. Bischoff shared a message in tribute to Turner on his X account.
The former WCW executive shared an image of himself on WCW Monday Nitro, where he’s holding a sign that says, “Vince fears Ted Turner!” Eric Bischoff wrote in the caption, “RIP Ted. And thank you for everything.”
Turner was previously instrumental in providing Bischoff with the funds to sign Hulk Hogan to WCW, along with Bischoff’s creation of WCW Monday Nitro, which aired head-to-head against WWE’s Monday Night Raw on the Turner-founded TNT network, starting in 1995.
Turner founded WCW after purchasing the assets of Jim Crockett Promotions in late 1988, which was rebranded as World Championship Wrestling.
